  • This unique museum is located in a former bridge tender-house in downtown Chicago, where bridge keepers used to live and operate the bridges over the Chicago River.

For this project, Space Haus created 10 new indoor interpretive panels and updated the content describing the history of the river and the work of the Friends of the Chicago River. Working with the brand standards and colors of the previous 20-year old exhibit, careful attention was paid to content hierarchy and legibility while also creating engaging new illustrations and graphics.

Five panels on the first floor provide orientation to the exhibits and describe the history of the Chicago River. The five top-floor panels address Chicago’s efforts to improve its green and blue infrastructure, sustainability and ecology.
